SOCIAWARE Game Software School for the Social Inclusion of Disadvantaged Youth

Together with disadvantaged youth interested in game software, we received training in game development and created games.

As part of TÜRGEV’s ERASMUS+ project titled “SOCIAWARE: Game Software School for the Social Inclusion of Disadvantaged Youth,” 40 young people aged 18 to 29 who speak English and are interested in game software and development participated in 184 hours of certified online training at Bahçeşehir University. Following their training, they traveled to France, Germany, and Portugal, where they attended workshops focused on themes such as script and story development, technical software, animation and cinematography, game publishing, graphic design, and modeling.

They also visited companies and institutions working in the field of game software.

The first phase of the project took place in Paris, France. Project participants visited the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Paris. They had the opportunity to enhance their personal skills and general knowledge by visiting institutions such as the Gaîté Lyrique Museum, the Louvre Museum, ISART Digital, and the Video Game & 3D FX Animation School.

The second phase took place in Frankfurt, Germany. In Frankfurt, they visited CRYTEK—a video game company founded by three Turkish brothers—as well as institutions like Deloitte and Cisco. At the IT Fair hosted by Goethe University, they received guidance on career management and gained insights into the latest developments in the industry.

The third phase of the project was held in the cities of Lousada and Porto in Portugal. In Lousada, participants visited the Romanesque Route Interpretation Center; in Porto, they explored the Game Software Center and historical heritage monuments. In Lixa Felgueiras, they experienced the “Includoteca” project and gained hands-on experience with board games. After completing the Portugal phase, the project participants returned to their home country. Moving forward, they will continue to collaborate in developing joint game software and designing new projects.
