The Journey of the Seed – Youth Movement in Sustainable Agriculture

With the support of the National Agency and under the coordination of TÜRGEV, the Turkey and Lithuania phases of the Erasmus+ project *The Journey of the Seed* have been completed.

With the support of the National Agency and under the coordination of TÜRGEV, the Turkey and Lithuania phases of the Erasmus+ project titled The Journey of the Seed – Youth Movement in Sustainable Agriculture have been completed.

The Turkey phase of the project was carried out in partnership with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, while the Lithuania phase was conducted in collaboration with Asociacija Tavo Europa. Participants received various trainings on topics such as organic and biological farming and the preservation and crossbreeding of heirloom seeds. They compared traditional and modern agricultural methods and organized group workshops to develop new practices that could be implemented in both Turkey and Lithuania. While in the capital city Vilnius, participants engaged in intercultural exchange and visited Green Tech, one of Lithuania’s largest recycling plants, where they had the opportunity to observe the recycling process firsthand.

The Turkey phase was held in Istanbul with the participation of students from various provinces of Turkey and from Lithuania.

During this phase, project participants received theoretical training at GİF Safveti Paşa and made institutional visits related to agricultural practices. They also carried out a reforestation activity in Büyük Çamlıca Forest, allowing them to apply what they had learned in a natural environment. At the end of the project, participants were awarded certificates, and gifts were presented to the educators and facilitators who contributed to the program.
